small and big blocks can be slid and turned over one another on the horizontal level. this is achieved by a detail that is tenderly called “feltsausage” by the producer.
movement is the essential and offers a multifaceted image of a cupboard in the living area. familiar materials like linoleum are applied in a constructive way by means of modern moulding techniques.
the high quality of performanuf with it´s “feltsausages” convinced the jury.the blickfang design preis is awarded in cooperation with the design center stuttgart.

since 1954, the annual design review has recognized the best in product, furniture, graphic and environment design, from the iconic to the obscure. throughout the years, this annual showcase has chronicled the evolution of design, and highlighted its impact on our material and visual culture.
each year, the featured work is chosen by a jury of leading practitioners, who, along with i.d.‘s editorial team, focus the abundance of submissions into a clear survey of the state of design. the resulting overview is published in the august issue of i.d. magazine the annual design review issue.

The competition for the prize of prizes
The design award is the official recognition of excellence in design offered by the federal republic of germany. It is the central thrust in the campaign of the federal german ministry of economics and technology to promote good design.
The prize of prizes
Companies cannot enter for the design award; instead, they are nominated by the ministries and senators for trade & industry of the german states or by the federal ministry of economics and technology.
it is a precondition for this, however, that a product has already been awarded a national or international prize. no other design award sets its entrants such a strict criterion. because of this the design award of the federal republic of germany is called the “prize of the prizes” by many opinion leaders in the world of design. -

and the winner is…
performanuf receives “red dot” for superior design qualityfor its outstanding design performanuf by performa moebel & design gmbh has now received one of the most coveted design prizes worldwide: the ´red dot´. this quality seal for good design is awarded annually in the international `red dot design award` competition by a jury of experts and only goes to products with a particularly sophisticated and innovative design.
the product assessment is carried out by an international jury of renowned design experts. they examine and test the products and assess them according to criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, ecological compatibility and clarity in function. this year, companies from 43 countries with a total of 2,548 products faced the jury verdict.
the award ceremony will take place on 25 june 2007 in the essen aalto theatre in front of more than 1,000 guests. following the ceremony, performanuf will first be presented with the other award-winning products in a special exhibition, before it will then be exhibited in the red dot design museum, the largest exhibition of contemporary design worldwide, for the duration of one year.

the “good design award” is japan’s only comprehensive design evaluation and commendation system. this system itself has its origins in the “good design selection system” (generally known as the “g-mark system”) instituted by the ministry of international trade and industry in 1957.
having achieved to build a foundation to nurture the industry and design of japan, many participation from every country in the world have been joining this award as a synthetic design evaluation system, and the awarded designs count more than 30,000 items so far.
good design award has developed today into a comprehensive design evaluation system that centers on industrial products but includes products in a wide variety of fields such as architecture, the environment, communication and even experimental design in state-of-the-art technical fields and business models that have design at their core. today most consumers support the “good design award.” all japanese companies that have incorporated design into their operations and are engaged in state-of-the-art production are participating in this system.the scope of the “good design award” now transcends mere evaluation of design, and this system is now beginning to play a dynamic role in getting us to think about basic matters such as the lives we should be living and how industry can undergo continuous development.
